Do Not Sell My Personal Information

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) · Last updated 2026-05-29

Our position

Owed does not sell your personal information. We are an information service that helps you locate unclaimed money you may be entitled to. We do not share, lease, license, or sell your personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third-party for monetary or other valuable consideration.

We use third-party service providers (Supabase for database, Stripe for payments, Anthropic and Perplexity for AI scanning, Resend for email) strictly to operate the service. These providers process your data on our behalf under contracts that prohibit them from using it for their own marketing.

Your CCPA rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, and share.
  • Delete personal information we have collected (subject to limited legal exceptions).
  • Opt out of any sale of your personal information (we don't sell, but the right exists).
  • Non-discrimination — we will not charge you a different price or provide a different level of service for exercising any of these rights.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information.

How to submit a request

To exercise any CCPA right, email us at privacy@owed.app with the subject line “CCPA Request” and include:

  • Your full name and the email address tied to your account.
  • The specific right you wish to exercise.
  • For deletion requests, confirm you understand we may keep records required by law (tax records, audit logs) per CCPA exceptions.

We will verify your identity (we may ask you to confirm details from your account) and respond within 45 days as required by law. Verification protects you from impersonation.

Authorized agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. Provide written authorization signed by you, plus the agent's contact information. We will still verify your identity directly with you.

Changes to this notice

If our practices change, we will update this page with a new “Last updated” date. We will not retroactively reduce your rights for data already collected.
